How-To-Get-A-Fabulous-3-Day-Diet-Menu-Eating-Your-Way-To-Thinness-On-A-Tight-Budget
If
you are trying to lose weight, there is a good chance that you are looking for
a 3-day diet menu. 3-day diets were popular for decades, even before the
Internet was up. When you're old enough, remember that your friends and family
have photocopied the various 3-day diet menu options. Nowadays, most of us
receive them by e-mail.
Thereare several 3-day diets that are very popular, such as the Mayo Clinic Diet or
the Cleveland Clinic Diet or the Tuna and Water Diet. Each of them has a
different 3-day diet menu, but they all work in similar ways.
Most
of these diets use a combination of low calories and low carbohydrates to
produce extremely fast weight loss, usually close to two pounds a day.
It
is generally assumed that they come from a medical clinic so cardiac patients
can lose weight before surgery. Most clinics have denied that they were the
authors of these programs, but they remain popular because they produce
results.
Probably
the best-known diet of this type is the Mayo Clinic Diet or simply the
Grapefruit Diet. This differs from the others in that it comes as no surprise
that grapefruit is heavily used in the 3-day diet menu.
Allegedly,
the grapefruit contains enzymes that are supposed to accelerate fat loss. While
there is evidence that this is true, the true value of grapefruit is based on
the fact that you need to eat less if you eat it before eating.
Grapefruits
have a lot of water and calories, which means they take up a lot of space in
the stomach when consumed. Because of this, you will eat fewer other,
higher-calorie foods, which means you will consume fewer calories while eating
without feeling disadvantaged.
Aside
from the grapefruit diet, the way the 3-day diet varies is a matter of the
number of carbohydrates allowed. Some diets recommend a piece of toast or bread
at each meal, others ban starch completely.
Usually,
breakfast in these programs consists of two options. The higher carbohydrate
programs are toast and peanut butter. The lower carbohydrate programs usually
have two eggs and some bacon.
Lunch
is pretty similar in this regard. The high carbohydrate versions allow you to
eat meat and a piece of bread or toast and maybe some fruit. The low
carbohydrate will only let you eat meat and a salad with full-fat dressing.
The
dinner is strangely the same for both. What you normally eat is meat and
vegetables, and usually in relatively large portions, with dinner usually the
biggest meal of the day.
The
higher carbohydrate versions actually tend to be lower in calories to
compensate for the extra carbohydrates. A 3-day meal with fewer carbohydrates
is usually less calorie-restricted, so it's important to choose those dietsthat are easy to keep up with.
